On September 18th, 2020, Vietranstimex successfully completed the Package 7B: Transporting three 500kV-600MVA Transformers from  Tan Dinh 500kV Substation (Phu My Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province) to Doc Soi 500kV Substation (Binh Nguyen commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) by multi-modal means of transportation (waterway and roadway combined).

The Package 7B, a part of Doc Soi 500kV Substation Reinforcement Project, is classified as special-grade project, group B with a total investment of nearly 350 billion VND. In the scope of work, Vietranstimex team has been in charge of receiving and transporting three 500kV - 600MVA Transformers weighing up to 216 tons of each (in which, the each body weights 132.9 tons, oil and associated fittings weight 83.1 tons) with the dimensions of 8.3m x 3.6m x 4.3m from Tan Dinh 500kV Substation storing platform to Doc Soi 500kV Substation operating platform, including handling at two ends. In addition, Vietranstimex has also carried out the relocation of three existing 500kV - 450MVA Transformers with the weight of 245 tons of each. 

In order to ensure the transportation of the transformers meeting the highest requirements, Vietranstimex mobilized its skilled manpower and the specialized transportation means for overweight, oversize cargoes, including: Man TGX 41.680 Tractor, SPT 14 axles, Roro ship 3000 DWT, … and the means of waterway and roadway for cargoes receipt and transportation combined.

The whole process was carried out for a period of 20 days, starting on August 29th, 2020 and completing on September 18th, 2020, including the following stages:
• Receiving 3 Transformers at Tan Dinh 500kV Substation and transporting by roadway to the berth close to Sotrans ICD in a distance of 40km
• Shipping by Roro ship to Dung Quoc PTSC Port, Quang Ngai province
• Transporting by roadway from Dung Quoc PTSC Port to Doc Soi 500kV Substation
