Danang Department of Industry and Trade has launched a pilot project on the development of a million green roof-top solar power houses.
Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on September 24 for two wind farms with combined capacity of 100 MW in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai. The two projects have total investment of over 3.6 trillion VND (close to 155.2 million USD). When completed in 2021, they will generate more than 319.5 million kWh of electricity a year
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), on behalf of New Market Fund I, Asiapetro, Novasia Energy and Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee (PPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on developing La Gan offshore wind power project with a total capacity of up to 3.5 GW. The signing ceremony took place at Vietnam 2020 High-Level Forum in Hanoi on July 22nd, 2020.
On September 18th, 2020, Vietranstimex successfully completed the Package 7B: Transporting three 500kV-600MVA Transformers from Tan Dinh 500kV Substation (Phu My Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province) to Doc Soi 500kV Substation (Binh Nguyen commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) by multi-modal means of transportation (waterway and roadway combined).
If nothing changes, the B&T wind farm cluster project, invested by B&T Wind Power Joint Stock Company in Quang Binh, is expected to kick off before October 10th, 2020.
In the evening of September 15th, 2020, Vietranstimex's trailers convoy officially started the journey to transport the 500kV-467MVA transformer weighing up to 286.8 tons from Dong Anh (Hanoi) to Son La Hydropower Plant (Son La province). The 500kV-467MVA transformer, invested in the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant Construction Investment Project, is the step-up transformer for Son La - Lai Chau Hydropower plants to increase the continuous operation of these key works.
